COURSE OVERVIEW

The courses, designed by architects Harry and David Rainville are “Butterfield Stage” and “Chino Creek”. Both are 18- hole championship golf courses. Early in California statehood pioneers traveled to the wild-west. The stagecoach made the 2700 mile journey from St. Louis to San Francisco. The “Butterfield Stage” course was named after a stagecoach stop local to the golf course property, the “Chino Creek” course was named for the rivers and creeks the stagecoach crossed. The El Prado property carries an early California/Spanish theme with mission tile, arched openings, large roof overhangs and colorful patio areas. Both golf courses are enjoyable for all levels of players. With wide-open fairways, large mature trees and just enough bunkers and water holes to make your day memorable. El Prado Golf Course is said to be user friendly and easy to walk over the most gentle of rolling hills. Over the many years the courses have had rave reviews on the appearance and playability of the putting greens. While playing at El Prado it's not unusual to see Red Tail Hawks, migratory ducks, birds and Canadian geese. Stand still, take a panoramic look around. El Macero Country Club - El Macero El Macero, California

The Course

El Macero Country Club features an 18-hole parkland-style Championship course stretching to 6,862 yards from the furthest set of tees. The course was designed by course architect Bob Baldock, who designed several courses in California and Nevada. The course offers four different sets of tee markers, and the rating and slope from the back tees is 73.0/129. El Macero has served as a qualifying spot for several USGA events over the years, and serves as the home course for UC Davis Men's and Women's golf teams. Notable PGA Tour players that have played in tournaments at El Macero include Byron Nelson, Peter Jacobsen, Tiger Woods, and Nick Watney. El Macero is a quick 12-minute drive from downtown Sacramento, and when serving as the Governor of California, Ronald Reagan used to enjoy the golf experience in between government meetings.

The layout requires golfers to shape their tee shots through mature tree-lined bermuda grass fairways to slightly elevated poa annua greens complexes. Accuracy is rewarded off the tee at El Macero, and good course management is needed to avoid the numerous bunkers protecting the greens. The Club also features a 13-hitting double-sided turf driving range, a dedicated short-game area, a chipping green, and a large putting green. The Professional Staff offers golf instruction six days a week to the membership, and runs a summer junior program for families to enjoy. The signature hole is the par-4 dogleg left sixth hole, stretching to 433 yards from the back tees, requiring players to maneuver through vast groves of oak trees off the tee and a long approach to a protected greens complex. Par is a great score on our signature hole!

El Niguel Country Club boasts an 18-hole championship golf course. The course is 7,060 yards of beautiful terrain that poses a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The course features rolling hills, three lakes and a meandering creek throughout the course. Men's Golf

There are numerous handicap appropriate groups with which to join and the golf shop is always available to find a game for new members. Each year there are four major tournaments: The Tradition, The Founders, The Niguel and the Member-Member. In addition, Men's Guest days are held four times a year, and there are numerous seasonal tournaments. El Niguel also participates in Men’s Thursday, Saturday and Silver Senior Team Play with other local clubs.

Women's Golf

The El Niguel Women's Golf Association always welcomes new members. Full membership in the ENWGA offers many privileges and fun events, as well as handicap maintenance, attendance at all luncheons, Tuesday tournaments, and guest days. For beginners, the Nifty Niners offers weekly golf clinics followed by 9-holes and then lunch. Annually, there are eight major tournaments. There are over thirty additional Tuesday tournaments as well as our two-day Sea Country Classic member-guest tournament. Guest Days are on the third Thursdays of selected months. 

Couples Golf

There are numerous seasonal tournaments for couples including a Couples’ Club Championship and Couples’ Member-Guest Tournament. Twilight Golf events, held on selected Friday nights in the summer, are also very popular couples’ events. Couples’ Sunday Sweeps are held every week.

Junior Golf

In 2010, the Club established a Junior Golf Development Program as well as a Junior Certification Program, both of which are led by our PGA-certified Director of Instruction. These programs are aimed at increasing the opportunity for junior golfers to better their game while also making sure that they have a complete understanding of the rules and etiquette of both the game and the Club. Both of these programs have thrived and the participation of junior golfers at the Club is at an all-time high.

We are beginning golfer friendly and still a good test of golf for every level of golfer!

Desert Aire is a full length 9 hole course with tree lined fairways. You can see our gigantic majestic cottonwood trees for miles! 

The course length is 3178 from the blue tees.

Our extensive practice facility has a full size sand bunker,

a practice putting green and a large practice chipping green area.

The course is SCGA rated as 18 holes.

You can relax in our clubhouse restaurant where we offer hot dogs, sandwiches, snacks and most all soft drinks, beer and wine coolers. 

Our mens club plays Wednesday mornings and our

ladies club plays Thursday mornings.

Visitors are welcome and encouraged to join the clubs. Our ladies and mens club golfers are friendly and helpful. We also have a very friendly group fondly called the "Divot Diggers" that play every Monday and Thursday morning. They play a friendly scramble for the first 9 and if you want more, you can join them for a skins game for the 2nd 9 holes! All the groups get a discounted green fee and cart fee, so you could not only win some $ but you can save $ on your fees as well!

Del Paso Country Club - Del Paso Sacramento, California

Del Norte Golf Club - Del Norte Crescent City, California

The Del Norte Golf Course is a secluded course located in the heart of the redwoods. Our course is located alongside of the Smith River. It is a challenging course to play. The fairways are flat, and some trees can alter your shots. The small greens are basically flat, but there are some subtle breaks in them. A creek comes into play on two holes. 

Our course was built in 1953 and is an 18 hole, par 71 golf course. We are located in Crescent City, California and are within walking distance of the Redwoods National Park. It is a walkable course but carts are available. 

The men's tees measure 6,117 yards total with 2,996 on the front 9 and 3,121 yards on the back 9. The ladies tees measure 5,454 yards with 2,623 found on the front 9 and 2,831 on the back 9. The rates are very reasonable for both 9 and 18 holes.

Davis Municipal Golf Course - Davis Davis, California

Davis Golf Course is a small, sparkling jewel in the crown of Golf Courses in the Sacarmento Valley. It is not a long tedious monster like some of the more recently developed courses have turned out to be. Yet, it offers those looking to “have fun” playing golf that exact opportunity. Its 4900+ yards for men and 4400+ for women belie its real difficulty. Yardages notwithstanding, it offers a challenge to some of the best of golfers, while still letting the beginner, senior, student, and women have a chance to have fun playing the game.

DGC’s challenges, while not including its length, do include out-of-bounds left on every hole. Also, there is water in play on 15 of 18 holes. If that’s not enough, there’s three holes with out-of-bounds on both left and right, and most fairways are considered rather narrow. All the greens are smallish, raised dishes (except one) with plenty of opportunity for rather severe breaking putts. Subtle breaking putts also seem to arise quite often

One of the hallmarks of the course is its very friendly accommodating staff and the friendly patrons who frequent the course quite regularly. Also, its economical costs allow players to play often.

Davis Golf Course is a full-service golf facility. Besides the 18-hole course, it has a driving range and two putting greens. It offers a myriad of lessons for beginners as well as the advanced golfers. It is able to accommodate small and large tournaments, including shotguns. Its food service facilities can arrange for barbecue steak dinners as well as burger and hot dog feeds. As was mentioned earlier, the staff is available to help meet everyone’s golfing needs.

Cypress Lakes Golf Course - Cypress Lakes Vacaville, California

The course was designed to maintain playability in all weather conditions, especially during wet climatic conditions. While most courses are cart paths only, Cypress Lakes Golf Club normally can maintain a 90 degree cart rule. Collared shirts and proper golf attire are required. (No denim/blue jean shorts/pants please.) Soft spikes only. Average playing time (18 holes): 3 1/2 hours to 4 1/2 hours. The course is open year-round. Fully stocked beverage/snack carts operate Friday-Sunday from 10am-5pm.
