Home of the Etowah County OpenWelcome to the "Official Home Page" of Briarmeade Golf Club. Briarmeade is located in North East Alabama and is open for "Public Play". The course was designed by Mr. George Black, a native of Carnoustie, Scotland. Mr. Jody Miller (our Club Manager) will answer any questions that you may have concerning Briarmeade Golf Club. Briarmeade is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership at large, and has a fine staff of employees with 118 paying members and approximately 12 members who are staff, in-kind and honorary. Our plans for the upcoming year include having more family events such as: dinners, tournaments, and holiday parties. All members are urged to support the club in attending these events. We will be pleased to receive telephone calls, faxes or e-mails to help give you any additonal information in becoming our next member.

The remainder of our website will assist you in making a decision to become our next member. We invite everyone to join our website. You can keep track of your own personal stats, post a classified ad with a picture and view photos taken at Briarmeade throughout the year. Grayson Valley Country Club

Welcome to Grayson Valley Country Club! 

The Country Club East is conveniently located near Birmingham, Alabama via I-59 between Center Point and Trussville, Alabama on Chalkville Mountain Road and is built on the original old Carraway Dairy Farm. Grayson Valley Country Club was formed by Ronald J. Moore and Joseph F. Yarborough in the early Spring of 1976.

Hoover Country Club

The focal point of Hoover Country club is our picturesque golf course, recreated in 2010 by the design of Bill Bergin. The rolling wooded landscape harmonizes with peacefully meandering airways of lush green grass and smooth, challenging greens. For the experienced golfer, the V tees provide over 7,000 yards full of interesting challenges. From the IV tees, the course plays at 6,552 yards and the III tees play 6,182 yards. The II and I tees can be played from a relatively short yardage of 5,633 yards to 5,064 yards.

A great pro shop enhances our fine golf course. The best in clubs, balls, bags, shoes, and casual attire are available at very competitive prices. The pro shop is staffed with helpful, courteous professionals with a commitment to making golf more delightful for our members and their guests.

Silver Wings Golf Course

Silver Wings Golf Course is a 27-Hole Championship facility. The course has outstanding Champion Bermuda Greens and one of the most challenging layouts in the region. The fairways are tree lined with numerous hardwoods and pines that gently roll through different elevation changes. The facility boasts a fully stocked Golf Shop, Divots Restaurant & Grille, Meeting & Banquet rooms, and a 300 yard long lit Practice Range.

The facility is open to the public and offers several types of membership opportunities. Membership includes unlimited green fees, advanced tee times, Golf Shop merchandise discounts, Member-only tournaments, discounted outside tournament fees, complimentary USGA GHIN handicap, and reduced room fees and food minimums in Divots’ Banquet Room.

Silver Wings has three 9-Hole courses: Red, White, & Blue. All three courses have subtle differences. The Red & Blue courses are straight forward, and the White course has more target areas to hit.

The majority of the holes will allow you to land the ball short of the green and bounce it in if necessary. There are only a few holes that force you to carry the ball over a bunker. The greens have a good deal of undulation to them and a ball too close to the edge of the green can easily roll off the side. A good game plan is to aim for the white 150 yard marker in the fairway, and aim for the center of the green.

Evans Barnes Golf Course

Built in 1977 Evans Barnes Golf Course is located on the campus of L. B. Wallace Community College. This Evans Barnes design features a 6500 yard, par 72 layout. It is characterized by 18 separate tee boxes for a 9-hole facility. The City of Andalusia took over the operation of the course in October 2002 and in November a new underground irrigation system was installed. Other improvements include renovations of bunkers, tees and greens. The staff at Evans Barnes invites you to come out and enjoy our new and improved course.
