Moose Run Golf Course - Hill Fort Richardson, Alaska

Two Distinctly Different Golf Courses

The Hill Course and the Creek Course at Moose Run make-up the World's Northernmost 36-hole golf course. Weoffer a fun and friendly atmosphere for all types of golfers. Moose Run Golf Course is also one of the state’s best places to practice and to learn the game.

The Hill Course is aptly named because of the gently rolling hills that make up the front nine. The Hill Course’s layout is easily walkable and offers a perfect introduction to golf for beginning golfers and juniors, while still delivering a challenge to the seasoned player.

The Creek Course is so named because of Ship Creek that meanders through and alongside some of the holes. Being tucked in at the base of the Chugach Mountains, both courses have some of the most beautiful views of this mountain range. A game of golf at either of these courses is often like a trip to a wildlife sanctuary.

Golfers may see both brown and black bear, fox, wolf, lynx, bald eagle and, of course, moose. Photo opportunities abound and many golfers are seen with their cameras at the ready. While Moose Run Golf Course is a military course it is open to the civilian community and the many tourists that come here each year. The Moose Run Golf Course offers a practice facility including: large driving range, two grass chipping ranges, and two practice putting greens, a perfect ways to sharpen your game.

World Woods Golf Club

Two top 100 Golf Courses in one place! - 36 holes- Tom Fazio's Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks Golf Courses along with the Number 1 ranked Golf Practice Facility and Driving Range. "This is my best work," said Fazio in a conversation with Joe Black, past President of the PGA of America, who has had the opportunity to play many of the best golf courses worldwide. Mr. Black stated, "This is like having Pine Valley and Augusta, plus the best practice facility in the world - in the same location." Clearly a "must play" and "must see to believe" golf facility.

* The World's Most Beautiful Courses is a list of courses selected by the PGA.com Editorial Advisory Board. The only prerequisites asked of the Board were 1.) they select courses open for public play and 2.) they not vote for their own course. The top 10 courses are featured, in no particular order, other than the top vote getter which was selected by a unanimous vote.

Scott Wyckoff – General Manager

For those who enjoy golf, World Woods must be on your list of courses to play. With two of the ‘top 10’ public access golf courses in Florida on the same property, it is a ‘golfers paradise’. The most recent rankings among top golf magazines are noted below:

Golf Week’s (2013) ‘Best Courses You Can Play in Florida’

Pine Barrens # 4

Rolling Oaks # 8

Golf Digest (2013 – 2014) America’s 100 Greatest Public Access Golf Courses

Pine Barrens # 76

Golf Digest (2013–2014) Best in the State of Florida (Public access facility)

Camp Creek Golf Club

"Golf Courses should reflect the natural beauty of the setting” – Tom Fazio

Welcome to Camp Creek. We know you'll enjoy your Troon Golf experience! Located between Highway 98 and Scenic Highway 30A, Camp Creek is enclosed in a natural haven of beauty that neighbors the beautiful emerald green waters and white sand beaches of Northwest Florida.

Designed by Tom Fazio, Camp Creek offers nearly 7,200 yards of undulated fairways and greens and driveable bunkers, with a view of the green from every tee box. Unlike the traditional flat terrain of Florida, Camp Creek is a fun challenge with few flat lies, and tiered greens that roll quick, but true!

Since our opening in 2001, we have been home to several first round US Open Qualifiers, and have received a number of awards, recognitions, and top rankings. This years honors include Golf Digest 2013 2nd Best Public Golf Course and 18thBest in State for public and private clubs.

When you first arrive at Camp Creek, you know that something is different and unique about this golf course. You see a tranquil mixture of native plantings interwoven with manicured turf, with no visible houses on the course. You will notice this throughout your golfing experience at Camp Creek. The native plant material gives the course a natural look and provides habitat to the diverse wildlife population we have here. A representation of the plant palette used on the course can be seen in the area around the practice range and practice putting green. Here we have Gulf Cordgrass, Marsh Hay Cordgrass, Saw Palmetto, Muhly Grass, Faxahatchee, and Live Oak. Look for the small plant identification signs located near these plants.

A great deal of thought and preparation went into the planting scheme to ensure the establishment of a diverse environment for wildlife. An important part of this is wildlife corridors. It is important for wildlife to be able to move from place to place in familiar surroundings. An example of a wildlife corridor can be seen in front of #2 tees. This area is a created wetland that connects the existing wetland on the left to the upland native habitat area to the right.

As a result of the natural plantings, we are blessed to have abundant wildlife on the property. A word of caution, however, is to be on the lookout for snakes, alligators, wasps, spiders, and mosquitoes!

Camp Creek is committed to enhancing our environment while providing a place for recreation and leisure. Because of our efforts to maintain and enhance the environment, Camp Creek has received certification in the Cooperative Sanctuary Program for golf courses through Audubon International. This program helps golf courses to enhance wildlife habitat and protect natural resources for the benefit of people, wildlife, and the game of golf.

Thank you for joining us at Camp Creek and we look forward to seeing you soon!
