Castlewood Country Club - Hill Pleasanton, California

Two Great Courses
Castlewood Country Club is a 36-hole private facility, with two fun and challenging golf courses. Being distinctly different, the Hill and Valley courses offer members a nice variety in the golf experience at Castlewood. Click the links below for hole-by-hole photographs and descriptions of each golf course.

Golfing Opportunities

At Castlewood, numerous tournaments and special events are conducted for our Members (men, women and juniors) throughout the year. There is a place for the beginner all the way up to the advanced golfer. And, if you're simply looking for a game, it's never a problem to find one at Castlewood. One good example is our unique Saturday Morning Shotgun, which offers a great way to meet other members, and enjoy great golf.

The Hill Course, opened in 1926, is a classic design by the famous William P. Bell, whose creations include Ojai, Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Newport Beach, nd Bel-Air Country Clubs. Wild drives or a sloppy short game will ruin your day on this challenging scenic layout. The course reaches from the Main Clubhouse just below the Pleasanton Ridge and meanders around the hillside offering spectacular views of the valley below. Be sure your gaze of the scenery shifts to your ball on #17, the 210yd (Blue Tee) par 3, one of the area's toughest holes. Here you must hit your shot precisely to hold the green.
